material to do so the material that I'm going to refer you to is part of the sermon today one part that had some reading in it I'll refer to it I'll explain it so if you have this sermon notes from today if you turn to page four the sermon I'm trying to focus in on Daniel Levin the title of the sermon today is Daniels last vision and as I'm dealing with Daniels last vision I have five points of logic that I think we need to look at when we're looking at his last vision over there Cathy and one of them has to do with Abraham's prophecy so if you turn to Genesis 15 Genesis 15 I'm saying that this is where the Lord sets forth his covenant with Abraham the first of three times that he does so but in this he gives a prophecy that will be fulfilled in the time of Moses and when that prophecy is fulfilled it gives a a pattern for not only the end of the history of ancient Israel in the time of Christ but also a pattern for millerite history and for our history and one of the things that can be derived from this prophecy is that there are three entities that close their probation so I'm just going to read through this very quickly and point out the three that I'm speaking of and after these things are word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision saying fear not Abram I am thy shield an exceeding great reward and we've identified that right here you can see the first angels message because this is the first of three covenant chapters of Abraham so it's the first angels message and the first angels message always has all three in it the fear God is the first and Abraham said Lord God verse 2 what will that give me seeing I go childless and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus and Abraham said Behold to me thou has given no seed and lo one born in my house and mine is mine heir and behold the word of the Lord came unto him saying this shall not be thine heir but thou shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thy dinair and he brought forth abroad and said look now toward heaven until the stars if thou be able to number them and he said unto him so shall thy seed be and he believed the Lord and he counted it to him for righteousness righteousness is the characteristic of the second angels message happy Sabbath good morning verse 7 and he said unto him I am the Lord that brought thee forth out of ur of Chaldees to give thee this land to inherit it and you'll notice that as we're identifying the second angels mess in verse seven in verse eight is where Abram is coming out of ur of Chaldees which is the reference to come out of Babylon which is the second angels message verse eight and he said Lord God what shall I know house whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it and he said unto him take me a heifer of three years old and a she-goat of three years old and a ram of three years old and a Turtledove and a young pigeon and he took unto them all these and divided them in the midst and laid each piece one against another but the birds divided he not and when the fowls came down upon the carcasses Abraham drew Abram drove them away and when the Sun was going down a deep sleep fell upon Abram and lo a horror of great darkness fell upon him now here's where the prophecy begins that is going to be fulfilled in the time of Moses and the prophecy where I'm saying there are three entities that are judged when it's fulfilled the children of Israel Egypt and Pharaoh and then the amorite and I'm saying that in our history the children of Israel's judgment is representing judgment upon Adventism the judgment of Pharaoh and Egypt is identifying the judgment of the United States and the judgment of the amorite s-- is the judgment of the world is represented by the ten kings in revelation 17 so here is the prophecy beginning in verse 13 and he said unto Abraham know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a strange land that is not theirs and shall serve them and that shall afflict them for hundred years and also that nation whom they shall serve will I judge okay also will I judge that nation the also tells you that they're gonna get judged they're going to go into bondage for 400 years but also he's going to judge Egypt also that nation whom they shall serves will I judge and afterwards shall they come out with great substance and thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace thou shalt be buried in a good old age but in the fourth generation they shall come hither again for the iniquity of the amorite is not yet full so in the fourth generation the hammerites are going to be judged - it's going to go on to say I'm in Genesis 1517 for those that have just come in and it came to pass that when the Sun went down and it was dark behold a smoking furnace and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces in the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram saying unto thy seed have I given this land from the river a jib unto the great great river of the river Euphrates the Canaanites won the kena's i'ts to the catamites three the Hittites 4 and the perizzites 5 and the ref vm6 and the amorite seven and the Canaanites eight and the girgashites nine and the jebusites 10 so I'm saying the amorite whose iniquity was not yet full but it would be full in the forth generation is a symbol of these 10 kings so I'm arguing in this story of the deliverance from Egypt you see for probation closes if that's the way you want to put it or for judgments the first upon God's people the second upon the nation where they were taken and the third upon the ten Kings represented by the amorite so on page four of your notes I just have some passages from the spirit of prophecy to try to put these things in place with second witnesses from the spirit of prophecy from testimonies volume 5 page 5 of 5 it says when God was about to smite the firstborn of Egypt when was God gonna fight smite the firstborn of Egypt at Passover ok so that's the subject Passover when God was about to smite the firstborn of Egypt he commanded the Israelites to gather their children from among the Egyptians into their own dwellings and strike their doorposts with blood that the destroying angel might see it and pass over their homes it was the work of parents together in their children this is your work this is my work and the work of every mother who believes the truth the angel is to place a mark upon the forehead of all who are separated from sin and sinners and that destroying angel will follow to slay utterly both old and young did you catch that did you catch that you missed it okay what were you supposed to catch and that did anyone catch that she just lined up Ezekiel 9 with Ezekiel 9 she identified the seal of God with the blood on the doorpost okay so if you're receiving the seal of God as God's people then you're receiving it at the same point prophetically that Passover took place in Egypt and when you receive the seal of God your probation is closed because your character is going to remain pure and spotless for eternity so in the story of Egypt Passover was the close of probation for God's people okay did you get that Larry okay so I'm saying there's three three closes of probation in this history I mentioned the fourth generation in Genesis 15 and this is from patriarchs and prophets 434 435 and for those of you that took OTT here we're unsure who is going to do superintendent remarks were you know okay so I'm I had a portion of my sermon today that has several readings on the amorite that's what I'm doing for superintendent remarks so this is part of my sermon in advance of my sermon that's what's happening here this this I'll come back to Lord willing later on today you think it was brought win' she's home with a sick baby okay so patriarchs and prophets page 434 435 says these nations on the border of Canaan would have been spared had they not stood in defiance of God's Word to oppose the progress of Israel the Lord had showed himself to be long-suffering of great kindness and tender pity even to these heathen people when Abraham was shown in vision that his seed the children of Israel should be stranger in a strange land for 400 years the Lord gave him the promise in the fourth generation they shall come hither again for the iniquity of the EM rights is not yet full although the amorite s-- were idolaters whose life was justly forfeited by their great wickedness God spared them 400 years to give them unmistakable evidence that he was the only true God the maker of heaven and earth all his wonders and bringing Israel from Egypt were known to them sufficient evidence was given that they might have known the truth had they been willing to turn from my Dollar Tree - and licentiousness but they rejected the life and clung to their idols when the Lord brought his people a second time to the borders of Canaan and what I'm wanting you to see here is that these three judgments in the story of Moses they don't take place at the same time the judgment on God's people is that Passover the judgment on Pharoah is in the Red Sea and the judgment and the oven I am writes is at the end of the 40 years okay when the Lord brought his people a second time to the borders of Canaan additional evidence of his power was granted to those heathen nations they saw that God was with Israel in the victory gained over King Arad and the Canaanites and in the miracle wrought to save those who were perishing from the sting of the serpents although the Israelites had been refused a passage of the land of Edom thus being compelled to take the long journey and difficult route by the Red Sea yet in all their journeys and encampments past the land of Edom of Moab and Ammon they had shown no hostility and had done no injury to the people or their possessions on reaching the border of the amorite Israel had asked permission only to travel directly through the country promising to the same rules that had governed their intercourse with other nations when the amorite King refused this courteous solicitation and defiantly defiantly gathered his hosts for battle their cup of iniquity was full and God would now exercise his power for their overthrow the Israelites crossed the river arnon and advanced upon the foe an engagement took place and in in which the armies of Israel were victorious and following up the advantage gained they were soon in possession of the country of the amorite it was the captain of the Lord's hosts who vanquished the enemies of his people and he would have done this 38 years before had Israel trusted in him so the judgment was going to take place upon three entities I've shown you God's people that Passover I've shown you the hammerites which would have taken place immediately after they crossed the Red Sea and went into the Promised Land but because of disobedience it takes 40 years but also I'm saying that the nation where they lived was judged as well and that was Egypt so from signs of the times November 4th 1880 on page 5 of your notes the subtitle says pretty much identical but you've got your hand up yes the amorite SAR the ten Kings and the threefold Union comes together at the Sunday law the persecution is going to begin there but you know that it's that's kind of a lot of things going on at the Sunday buck when the Lord brought his people after their long wandering in the wilderness the second time to the borders of the promised land additional evidence of his power was granted to those heathen nations this particular paragraph is almost identical to what I just read ok so but this particular paragraph has a sentence at the bottom that I want to want you to see that isn't in that first paragraph so I'll start the second sentence from the bottom on signs of the times November 4th when the amorite King refused this courteous solicitation and defiantly gathered his hosts for battle the cup their cup of iniquity was full God would now exercise his power for this their destruction even as he had fought against Pharaoh and his host how had he fought against her Pharaoh and his host in the waters of the Red Sea okay so Pharaoh and his host probation closed at the waters of the Red Sea the amorite closed 40 years later but God's people closed it Passover so these are three different closes a probation all in the same prophecy they're all in the same prophecy at the end of the 400 years Abraham's prophecy of Genesis 15 okay in the sermon that I plan on doing today I didn't plan on reading these entire passages because I didn't have the time but I want to read this passage I have the time now I got 14 minutes this is from testimonies volume 5 page 207 I have the chapter title there because the number 23 is a symbol of the close of probation it's a symbol of the 2300 days and at the end of the 2300 days the door is closed it's also a symbol of the sealing that takes place when you bring it down to the Sunday law so I don't think it's an accident that this is chapter 23 in testimonies volume 5 with the title the seal of God and it says it's going to quote from Ezekiel 9 and he called to the man clothed with linen which had the riders in corn by his side and the Lord said unto him come to the midst of the city through the midst of Jerusalem and said a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sign cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof and to the others he said in mine hearing go you after him through the city and smite let not your eyes spare and neither have you pity slay utterly old and young both maids and little children and women but come not near any man upon which the mark upon whom is the mark and begin at my sanctuary then they began at the ancient man with which were before the house and we've studied out in the past judgment and the close of probation this is one of the places we refer to that shows that it's progressive okay judgment begins with the house of God and and moves forward it begins with the dead and then to the living it's a progressive activity but she discarded ezekiel 9 and then she says jesus is about to leave the mercy seat of the heavenly sanctuary to put on garments of vengeance and pour out his wrath and judgments upon those whom have not responded to the light God has given them because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily therefore the hearts of the sons a man is fully set in them to do evil instead of being softened by the patience and long forbearance that the Lord has exercised toward them those who fear not God and love not the true strength in their hearts and their evil course but there are limits even to the forbearance of God and many are exceeding these boundaries they have overrun the limits of his up grace and therefore God must interfere and vindicate his own honor of the amorite so the Lord said in the fourth generation they shall come hither again for the iniquity of the amorite is not yet full so she references Ezekiel 9 the chapter this is the beginning of the chapter called the seal of God she references Ezekiel 9 and other places as the ceiling of his equal nine is the same as the ceiling of Revelation seven then she goes into the limits of God's forbearance and now she's going back to the amorite s' in Abraham's prophecy of Genesis 15 I'm gonna say pretty much what we've read a couple times already although this nation was conspicuous because of its idolatry and corruption it had not yet filled up the cup of its iniquity and God would not give command for its utter destruction the people were to see the divine power manifested in a marked manner that they might be left without excuse this informs us that before probation closes upon God's people and then upon the United States and then upon the world that God will manifest his power so that they will be without excuse because God's dealings with men is ever the same he's the same yesterday today and forever the people were to see the divine power manifested in a marked manner that they might be left without excuse the compassionate creator was willing to bear within their iniquity until the fourth generation then if no chain was see change was seen for the better his judgments were to fall upon them with unerring accuracy the infinite one still keeps account with all nations while his mercy is tendered with calls of repentance to account this account will remain open but when the figures reach a certain amount which God has fixed the ministry of his wrath commences the account is closed divine patience ceases there's no pleading of mercy in their behalf the prophet looking down the ages had this time presented before his vision the nations of this age have been recipients recipients of unprecedented mercies the choices of heavens blessing had been given them but increased pride covetousness idolatry contempt of God and base ingratitude are written against them their Flass closing up their account with God Clayton was telling us that when he was in Angola this recent this past week that he thinks from he don't know but it was his guess he thinks from the long-term lack of food there that it's stunting the people's growth you can see these people that are adults that look like teenagers at best and but he was talking about the poverty he's talking about the the poverty there and only reason I bring that in is Kathy and I heard on the news yesterday that Amazon now is worth one trillion dollars okay so we got companies in the world that have so much money and other parts of the world that are so impoverished that the Lord has to act at some point in time he has to act without even talking about the the sexual immoral morality in the world or or the idolatry of these these sports figures and other movie stars on and on in any case I think the cup is full but that which causes me to tremble is the fact that those who have had the greatest light and privileges have become contaminated by the prevailing iniquity influenced by the unrighteousness around them many even of those who profess the truth have grown cold and are burned down by the strong current of evil the universal scorn thrown upon true piety and holiness leads those who do not connect closely with God to lose their reverence for his law if they were following light and obeying the truth from the heart this holy law would seem even more precious to to them when thus despised and set aside as the disrespect for God's law becomes more manifest the line of demarcation between its observers and the world becomes more distinct love for the divine precepts increases with one class as contempt for them increases with another the crisis is fast approaching the rapid swelling figure shows that the time for God's visitation has about come although low to punish nevertheless he will punish and that speedily those who walk in the light will see the signs of the approaching peril so there has to be a people on earth that will see these things in advance because God's Word never fails and she just said it those who are walking in the light will see the approaching peril and what is the approaching peril the signs of the approaching peril what is the approaching peril Sunday law and everything that goes with it but they do that but they are not to sit in quiet unconcerned expensive expectancy of the ruin comforting themselves with the belief that God will shelter his people in the day of visitation far from it whatever it is if you want to just call it in a general sense the Sunday law fine but she calls it in a general sense here the ruin okay they should realize that it is their duty to labour agility diligently to save others looking with strong faith to God for help the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much the leaven of godliness has not logg entirely lost its power and at the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest the little company are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land but more especially will their parents arise in behalf of the church because its member our members are doing after the manner of the world as you approach this time what's going on in God's church they're copying the world the earnest prayers of this faithful few will not be in vain when the Lord comes forth as an adventure he will also come as a protector of all those who have preserved the faith in its purity and kept themselves unspotted from the world it is at this time that God has promised to avenge his own elect which cry day and night unto him though he bear long with them the command is go through the midst of the city through the midst of Jerusalem and set a mark upon the foreheads of men that sigh and cry for the abominations that be done in the midst thereof these sign crying ones have been holding forth the words of life they have reproved counsels and entreated some who have been dishonouring God repented and humbled their hearts before him but the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel although many still continued the forms of religion his power and presence were lacking the next quote I want you to see if you're not familiar with it I think everyone in this room probably is is that God judges individuals churches nations and cities individually okay you who are sliding the offers of mercy think that the long array of figures accumulating against you in the books of heaven for there is a record kept of the impiety of nations of families of individuals God may bear long while the account goes on and calls to repentance and offers a pardon may be given yet a time will come when the account will be full when the souls decision has been made when by his own choice man's destiny has been fixed then the signal will be given for judgment to be executed so in here she speaks up nation's families in vigil individuals coming to the point where they've closed their probation other quotes in here she's going to say nations and even cities so I'm saying God's people in the the prophecy of Abraham God's people are judged shortly thereafter the nation where they were which for us as the United States is judged and shortly thereafter the rest of the world represented by the amorite are judged but these judgments are unexpected this is from review and Herald October 18th 1906 our God is a God of compassion with long sufferance and tender mercy he deals with the transgressors of his law and yet in this hour day when men and women have so many opportunities for becoming familiar with the divine law is revealed in Holy Writ the great ruler of the universe cannot behold with any satisfaction in the wicked cities where rain violence and crime God can't look at the cities if the people in these cities would repent as did the inhabitants of Nineveh many more such messages of Jonah would be given there isn't any messages of Jonah being given because these cities are already closed the probation god can't look with them and that's what she just said if you wrap your mind around that statement if the people in these cities would repent as did the inhabitants of Jonah many more such messages as Jonah would be given why did the people of Nineveh repent because Jonah gave a message okay Jonah isn't giving a message to these cities because God can tell it would not accomplish what it's supposed to okay reading on of the disobedient God now declares although they have been cumbers of my ground I will for beer with them as long as there is a possibility of their repenting toward those who have chose to leave the ranks of the transgressors of my law and to standard of the blood-stained banner of Prince Emmanuel I will show mercy and forgiveness but the end of my forbearance with those who persist in disobedience is approaching rapidly ought men to be surprised over a sudden and unexpected change in the dealings of the Supreme ruler with the inhabitants of the fallen world ought they to be surprised when punishment follows transgression and increasing crime ought they beasts to be surprised that God should bring destruction and death upon those whose ill-gotten gains have been obtained through deception and fraud notwithstanding the fact that increasing light regarding God's requirement has been shining on their pathway many have refused to recognize Jehovah supreme rulership ship and have chosen to remain under the black banner of the originator of all rebellion against the government of heaven the forbearance of God has been very great so great than when we considered the continuance insult to his holy Commandments we marvel the omnipotent one has been exerting a restraining power over his own attributes but he will certainly arise to punish the wicked who so boldly defy the just claims of the Decalogue not long ago in the visions of the night I was in a large assembly where the sacredness of God's law was being pointed out with solemn earnestness a speaker read the 119 the 126 in the 127th Psalm he declared that the wickedness of the world has reached a point where the Lord will certainly interfere these words were repeated the Lord is slow to anger and of great power and will not at all acquit the wicked the Lord will hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm and in the bowels of the earth and in the clouds wherewith he hides himself by studying the story of the amorite s' we may learn a lesson regarding God's dealing with the transgression of his law God promised Abraham and his posterity the land of Canaan but centuries passed before this promise was fulfilled one reason given was that the iniquity of the amorite was not yet full though practicing idolatry they had yet had not yet reached the full measure of guilt that was to bring upon them the Vengeance of God finally when their period of probation was ended the command was given for the destruction God allows men a period of probation but there is a point beyond which divine patience is exhausted and judgments of God are sure to follow the Lord bears long with men and with cities mercifully giving warnings to save them from divine wrath but a time will come when the pleadings for mercy will no longer be heard and the rebellious elements that continues to reject the light of truth will be blotted out in mercy to themselves and to those who would otherwise be influenced by their example so the out of that last quote the second paragraph from the bottom where it says but studying the story of the am writes we may learn a lesson regarding God's dealing with the transgressors of his law I'm saying by looking at the history of Moses as a fulfillment of Abraham's prophecy and looking at the amorite sin the fourth generation that we can demonstrate that in that history there was three inter entities that closed their probation at distinctly different places the Hebrews closed their probation at the midnight cry why do I say the midnight cry because Passover was the first amend I cry in the scriptures that at midnight there was a cry that went throughout Egypt okay and then the Egyptians closed their probation Pharaoh in the Red Sea and then they were moving into the Promised Land and it would have took a little bit of time to raise up the sanctuary that wasn't going to happen in a day and receive the law even if they'd been faithful they weren't going directly in the Promised Land I think it was we've been told a 13 day journey or eleven-day journey lemoned a journey but they were going there directly after Pharaoh was destroyed in 11 days they had to raise up the tabernacle but the amorite could have come down right then and there but but they didn't but all I'm wanting is to see for our study is that there's in that prophecy and Abraham's prophecy is the first prophecy given about a chosen people first covenant prophecy of a chosen people it was fulfilled in the time of Moses who was the beginning of ancient Israel and that history illustrated the of ancient Israel and the beginning and ending of ancient Israel illustrates the beginning of modern Israel with the Millerites and the ending of modern Israel with the hundred and forty-four thousand and Jesus illustrates the end from the beginning so the Covenant history of the hundred and forty-four thousand is the final covenant history of a chosen people and it was stupefied by the history of Moses that was put forth by Abraham in Genesis 15 so one of the things that I wanted to glean from this study is that in our history there's going to be three distinct closes of probation first God's people midnight cry second the United States at the Sunday law and thereafter the ten Kings closed a probation when Michael stands up I went a little bit over whoevers teaching I robbed you of three minutes shall we pray Heavenly Father we we believe that the cups are full and it's only your long-suffering mercy that is preventing you from acting upon the escalating sin and rebellion that is on planet earth we ask that you would continue to hold the winds while those that are willing to be sealed can still be sealed and we thank you for a peaceful Sabbath that we can still come together and study without any of the events that are about to take place in the near future where this type of gathering might become much more difficult we ask you to bless us through this study that's coming up in Jesus name Amen nice prey our Father which art in heaven as we open your word as we open the book Acts of the Apostles and consider the the gifts the spiritual gifts which you have bestowed upon your church we prayed there father that you would give us your Holy Spirit that we may understand these things and gain a greater and deeper appreciation for these gifts for what you have done through the sacrifice of your son Jesus Christ please guide us into a deep full understanding of these things we pray and we thank you in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ amen as and again I apologize for these that these questions have come on I've come to you so late but I want to uh in case you haven't looked at it and just to maybe get a a picture of mental picture of these things you'll see in the questions that I ask you to study the passage there in patriarch I'm sorry in Acts of the Apostles where we're actually on pages 92 and 93 and question number 1 is actually actually not a question but a recommendation that we study with Acts of the Apostles 92-93 the introduction to patriarchs and prophets and the introduction to spear prophecy vol 1 who was the introduction to patreon patriarchs and prophets written by Uriah Smith and who was the introduction to spirit of prophecy volume actually with its spirit of prophecy volume 1 but actually it's I'm sure it was meant for the entire 4 volume series which was the first conflict of Ages series that we had okay so in volume 1 of the the spirit of prophecy who was the introduction written by James White okay good morning to everyone visiting us here this morning especially our brother and sister Ruben and and Joyce very glad did you're here with us okay so if you in case you don't have it before you spirit obviously volume one the introduction written by James white on page eight of that introduction he makes this statement if the spirit of prophecy nearly disappeared from the Jewish church for a few centuries toward the close of that dispensation on account of the corruptions in that church it reappeared at its close to usher in the Messiah so here you have the Jewish view of it if you can put this on the line maybe maybe not so at some point you can say possibly at Malachi book of Malachi okay this period of prophecy I'll just put SOP it disappeared and then it reappeared at the to Usher and the Messiah and so why according to James white why did it disappear the corruptions in that church when I was looking at this considering it not very deeply but it reminded me of enough of that study on the and I won't go very much into it that that's how many remember the study on the restriction okay what this actually I'm just here speaking off the top of my head here would go actually three lines here Paul Ince we won't go there but you should be familiar with this the Apostle Paul in second Thessalonians chapter 2 admonishes the Christians not to look for Christ coming in their day okay so you have this restriction it's amazing to me that these things ended up going together and I didn't even notice as at the beginning but you have a restriction restriction on what proclaiming and I'm using words from the spirit of prophecy yes you can find this in great controversy page 355 to 356 a restriction on proclaiming the judgment near all right when was that restriction lifted 1798 and how many years was this from here to here Griffin more than 1260 because it was yes I said it you are technical technical technically correct and I've considered that matter also but great controversy 355 356 places that restrictions starting at 538 ad because she says the whole period of papal supremacy similar words to that so you can say from the time of Paul but more exactly it would be 538 and sister white clearly says that during that time and you can blame this a lot of this on the papacy the love of Christ appearing had gone okay proclaimed it partners proclaiming he said be home to about 300 years okay so love of Christ love of second coming however you want to put it disappeared it matters because I get your point but wouldn't you put the corruptions on the left side and the love of his appearing disappearing on the left side not in the middle okay repeat that please and your top line the corruptions that they killed the spirit of prophecy come yes yes before we're pre-multiplying yeah yeah yeah and so we'll suit so with your love a second coming is yummy five thirty a yeah okay I agree I'm assuming that recording picked what Jeff set up okay all right so sister white I didn't mean to get into all this but sister white brings out the fact that in various statements among sevens the evidence the same thing has happened among as had happened among the Protestants what we're talking about the restriction and I need to really start thinking about bringing this because this is not what the what the study is about but when you're thinking about the restriction there's a restriction about proclaiming the coming of Christ near that route that restriction involves revelation 10 six what is revelation ten six say and write them sell up with the seven thunders uttered and write them or something where's that five yet more likely five okay ten six is time no longer so there you have another restriction presented in the Word of God I'm going to stop right there I'll let you think about that one because before I forget to mention it if there was the restriction here what is it here no not reappear no Roxie reappears if you're talking that was oh sure you have a restriction here on the top line it's the spirit of prophecy yes that's what he's into yeah I get you alright but considering this line here there were description here and what you have here it's removed restriction removed so it was moved in 1798 and then it tender restriction reappeared you can say 1844 but more correctly it would be 1863 when did the restriction get removed let's go to our study yes I'm not gonna finish that one its 1844 1863 and I was gonna argue with you and say no it would be 1989 yeah 1989 what victory was removed and the one on top would be the birth of John and yeah Jesus probably really sloppy of line but anyway anyway if we have questions out later we can talk about him alright so did you look at if you did you have any time to look at the introduction to patriarchs and prophets and it's better policy Volume one though you got the questions too late yesterday afternoon just want to bring out a few highlights from that from fear to prophecy Volume one on page 8 of James White's introduction the Christian age commenced with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of various spiritual gifts among these was the gift of prophecy and so he continues and he says after commissioning his disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel Jesus says to them and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name shall they cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up new take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover on the day of Pentecost when the Christian dispensation was fully opened some of these gifts were manifested in a wonderful manner then a next paragraph it says since the great apostasy these gifts have rarely been manifested and for this reason professed Christians generally suppose that they were designed to be limited to the period of the primitive church but from the time of the primitive Christians to the present there have been manifestations among the most devoted followers of crop of Jesus which have been recognized by nearly all of the leading denominations as the gifts of the holy spirit then should not the errors and the unbelief of the church be assigned as reasons why these manifestations have been so seldom rather than that God has taken these blessings from the church you know one and I'm if I'm emphasizing the gift of prophecy more than the other gifts in this Sabbath School lesson I just I feel compelled I'm drawn to that and when I think of the gift of prophecy now follow me here and this is to me this is inescapable when we consider the gift of prophecy what is prophecy and patch okay but should we demand this is the question for all of us should we demand that prophecy has only to do with events but with predicting events that's both - it's also the gospel so it has to do with experience its moral and prophecy it just says it genesis 3:15 is the first gospel sermon and the first prophecy says both so prophecy is the gospel not just events mm-hmm is that what you're getting at hmm what are you getting what are you getting at of trying to nudge you in that direction and when we Nichols wait if I can say that a certain event will happen and it stands as it is but more often than not what is involved with prophecy is it not time I say that you know a certain thing will happen in a certain amount of years the Bible says it okay so if the gift of prophecy is not manifest in a church at the same time to me it's also the fact that they don't understand the time the I don't know observation on the right word but that was a statement about the Jews as they did not know that time of their visitation videos so we can if we don't know that time of our visitation because they're typifying us it's because we don't know prophecy among other things because they're wrapped up and said I suggest that whenever the spirit of prophecy tells us there will never be another message based on time for me and the way I understand it and the way I have come to understand it over the past months maybe years is that that is withdrawn from the people of God because they have lost their love for his second coming so if time prophecy comes back in the church we need to be very very careful in our acceptance or rejection of that it would seem to me some - you know I'm I think of that statement in spiritual gifts vol 1 I think it is where sister white says something like God withhold information from people until such time as he sees fit for it to be revealed but people assume you know ok I'm gonna get him my stuff Walker's box area she says there shall be time no longer and when there's no more prophecies based on time I'm not talking about Daniel 12 I know that's up in the air today in a big way and I think it's already been fulfilled but what about in Revelation there's periods of time mentioned and they'd have to have some meaning the beasts eaten or the merchants or whatever will reign with the kings for one hour their silence in heaven for an hour there's there's several of these periods of time but it sounds like what you're saying is as long as there's no love of the truth that applies but when the truth comes back that the time will return the prep time prophecies will return it's not exactly what I'm hearing yes I know at the voice of God deliverance he speaks the day an hour to the righteous understand who have been resurrected this is the special resurrection will know the day an hour of his coming the wicked all don't understand yeah they they're there but in Maranatha it talks about the time he steps on a little white cloud and before it appears there is a number of days which is time amen so I don't I don't understand this yeah we we believe that millerite history is repeated the the parable of the ten virgins sister white says is repeated to the very letter totally the administer did they have a message of based on tongue definite time yeah they did and if she's in a the Spirit of God tells us in his word that that history is to be repeated what other conclusion can one come to see you know in a day you know yeah all of these things they're there they're the passages in the spirit of prophecy where sister white is speaking about definite time she says and I could go week week we could find it she clearly says that in the time of the Miller writes people loved to quote the words of Christ no man knoweth the day nor the hour and she says that the middle writes clearly gave it a cave gave a clear explanation of that and she says that the people didn't mind the preaching of Christ's second coming but they objected to the definite time don't you need we need to very seriously wrap our minds around that yes sir based upon what you two are saying the the logic for me is is in order for Miller right history to repeat at the end with in Adventism the the particular part you're speaking about Millerites we're all Protestants and it was the Protestants that we're using the Bible to say the Bible says you'll not know the day or hour so if you're going to repeat that in our history you have to have adventism saying you won't know the day and hour in Miller ID history the continents were referring to the Bible in our history they have to refer to the spirit of prophecy to make that argument so there has to be things in the spirit of prophecy that allow the people that really don't want to hear about the nearness of his return to argue with those people that have been typifies by the Millerites who could refute the arguments from the Bible in their history amen we really need to wrap our minds around that it's already being done now yeah so the church but but just to finish what I was gonna say about that she says that those who were using that verse in the time of Miller no man knows the day nor the hour she says they didn't want Christ to return that was their motive seventh-day adventists quote they'll be Annelle never be there would never be another message based on time mr.white says so why do you quote that you know and and I want and I think it's already been made clear enough but I'm going to emphasize it again for those not only here but those that are watching on the internet we are not saying that the statements in the spirit of prophecy where she says there will never be a met another message based on time we are not saying that those that those words were never true we are not saying that they were never true they were true but just as God has given messages to his people the most the most classic one is like with the Jews they they performed animal sacrifices up until Christ was crucified after Christ was crucified he became our sacrifice no longer were they to perform you know those those sacrifices God does that God does that sort of thing well lest we lose all the rest of the questions there we have another question is when you look at all the quotes of mystery she refers to that she specifically referring to the second coming our message today is not definite time of the second coming no we haven't done that so we're not even getting close to as you say not following that you know those those passages in the spirit of prophecy because our message is based on what events that precede the second coming yeah some before so there's another parallel that needs to be I mention one more thing you've prompted me you know what what Ellen White says about there will never be another message based on time she says the same thing about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit if you look at that passage there's a classic passage there in 7a or it's maybe in one of the spear to select the messengers book but you know where she says he puts them to the two together the coming of Christ and also the outpouring of the Holy Spirit she said we're not going to know well you know Kay she doesn't actually say we're not going to know she says we'll never have a message that will tell us when these things are going to happen okay but at the same time regarding the outpouring of the Holy Spirit she says that we are to recognize his testimonies to ministers volume I mean a testimony to ministers 507 she says we are to recognize the outpouring of the Holy Spirit okay more than once where it was starting to - yes okay we're recognizing yes no so my point is if we are to say we can't we were never to know when the Holy Spirit is to be poured out even though she says it may be falling on the hearts all around us but we shall not perceive or receive it some will not okay so does that mean that when Christ returns that we're not gonna know when he returns that that's just as ridiculous anyway read it for us please er again and again have I been warned in regards to time setting there will never again be a message for the people of God that will be based on time we are not to know the definite time either for the out point of the Holy Spirit or for the coming of Christ okay so can you imagine how ridiculous does this sound can you imagine when Christ is coming with all of his glory and people you know where is Christ's second coming III don't see it that sounds silly doesn't it but that's that's basically what they're saying when they're saying that we were we were never to know because I know when we began to preach in this message that the Holy Spirit began to be sprinkled at 9/11 people were fighting that and saying you can't know we will never No so then we'll never to know when whenever Christ is coming in all of his glory we're not to know that either anyway let's go to question number 2 after studying the passages which were referred to above after studying the passages which were referred above reference I'm sorry referenced above according to James white what why did the spirit of prophecy we already addressed that question why did the spirit of prophecy nearly disappear from the Jewish church for a few centuries toward the close of that dispensation and we've answered it the corruptions okay in question number three according to Ephesians four oh I'm glad we at least got to this question for what purpose did Christ give some apostles prophets evangelists pastors and teachers until when were they to exist in the church okay so let's go to Ephesians chapter four okay brother Toby would you read from verse 10 children 14 actively read from verse 9 to verse 14 verse 9 of Ephesians 4 now that he ascended what is it but that he also descended verse into the lower parts of the earth he that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens that he might fill all things and he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the Saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ till we all come in the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man unto the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive and you not must keep reading because it's full of colons and semicolons but speaking the truth in love may grow up into him in all things which is the head even Christ okay so well it goes yeah it goes on it's a complete yeah thought nevertheless up so what for what purpose did God that Christ give these gifts of the saints and for the edifying of his body okay and it's to be priests present until or till we all come into complete unity of the faith and become unto a perfect man in the measure and stature and the likeness of Christ okay letting out of sins till till probation closes okay that best oh that's the the height of it I could I could see that but what about verse fourteen because actually the answer continues into verse fourteen okay so you have verse twelve and thirteen that both speak about perfection the perfection of God's people you have verse twelve the perfecting of the Saints verse thirteen a perfect man but then also verse 14 mature Christians who are no longer on milk children babies drink milk adults have the meat of the word that's how I would apply that so it's kind of all go step step wise it's a progression it's a progress yet ration of sanctification yet where they cannot be moved yes there is a statement I I can get it there there's a statement that says that we will not reach the full stature of men and women in Christ Jesus until our probation closes whether you're dead or whether you're living so that's why I said what I said earlier till the blotting out of sins because it's then at that time that God says he won't and that we will not remember any of our sins any more spiritual gifts 134 and 135 says that that before this time there will be a panoramic view of our own lives given to us that we have to deal with this is before our case comes up in in the most holy place mm-hmm and when it does providing we have dealt with those just like on the day of atonement and the typical sanctuary it has to happen again and whether you're living or whether you're dead you don't reach the full stature of a man in Christ Jesus until your probation closes now this was a new thought to me that's just I just found this a couple weeks ago and it's it's opened up a whole a whole nother view yeah thanks thank you now considering where it says in verse 14 that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro okay if you connect that with Isaiah with someone read Isaiah 29 Eliezer rather Isaiah 28 verse 9 Isaiah 28 verse 9 okay so what's the relationship between that verse and the wandering Ephesians the first part of verse 14 that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro okay understanding it's it's maturity so these children there in verse 14 are they are they weaned from the milk they're not weaned from the milk okay so then of course when you put that together with Hebrews 6 or is it Hebrews 5 favours live Hebrews 5 go and read that brother for when the time ye ought to be teachers you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the Oracles of God and are become strong as having need of milk and not of strong meat for everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe but strong meat belongeth to them that are full of age even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil so the leaders of the churches and Havener churches need to ask themselves are we feeding the flock milk or meat and you know we just think about this though the the church today we already know according to the spirit of prophecy that this that they're gonna just it won't even be milk it'll be Mountain Dew and whatever that's happening today and books of a new order will be written and they certainly are sadly worth it no they they poopoo the whole idea of the last generation theology yes and they're attacking it and and where are our young people there they are they're gone sadly so that you can actually say that they don't want the second coming absolutely no I mean when you have our leaders coming to churches and saying that you don't matter anymore what day you go to church and they're saying that Jesus is not in the heavenly sanctuary mediating for our sins there is not a time when there won't be a mediator I mean they contradict themselves all the time but the people are eating this up their food and the conference is backing up these guys or while they're from the conference sadly yep yep peace and safety met anyway I agree uh number of for question number four according to dick to James why do I have the gifts of the Spirit been rarely manifested I think we already read that yes I think it is let's go to question number five so according to James white when will they be restored in their fullness time with a lot of rain is it because even fuller fuller than before yes yes and as a matter of fact and obviously yes if you look in the chapter that we're supposed to be studying this morning from Acts of the Apostles chapter 9 entitled the second the seven deacons what are the first three words actually page 87 and those days okay so when you go to go back to in your Bibles go to Acts chapter 2 and verses 17 and 18 continue I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in the in those days of my spirit and they shall prophesy okay so would you not say this does in those days is the same those days yes okay so it was these gifts were given when the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost so when will they be restored I want to ask you a question and I I considered the statement yesterday when I was looking at this you'll you'll be you'll be familiar with this where and I don't know whether I have a reference or not but she she she Ellen White tells us that in the time of the end or something every divine institution will be restored I know Jeff is very familiar with that but that passage can we just least say that every divine institution includes the gift of the Spirit because I mean in the passage where she's talking about every divine institution being restored she's mentioning primarily the law of God in the Sabbath but she doesn't mention the gifts of the Spirit put faith in those as determining Kosygin will have the same be doing the same thing PK 678 42 it's the one you're looking for every divine is says in the time of the end every divine institution is to be restored even even the prophetic gift would you not say yes okay good we did we just have just a very little time left I'm gonna stretch it here just a little bit go with me to kind of turning a corner here but I'm gonna do it anyway first Corinthians chapter 14 and with that I want to address question six according to the Apostle Paul what is the best gift and what are we to covet what is that gift why is that gift better than the gift of tongues so what is look at verse 14 I mean verse 1 of chapter 14 first Corinthians follow after charity and desire spiritual gifts but rather that ye may prophesy what was the question Christian yeah I'll get it I'm willing I'm wondering if I come back you're leaking of it okay first Corinthians chapter 14 verse 1 the question was what is what is the best gift well what two gifts as Paul addressed in chapter 14 no tongue tongue tongues in prophecy okay so he's addressing tongues and prophecy so according to Paul whenever he says rather that you may because it's evident if you read the entire chapter he's he's putting prophecy above to give the tongues and if you look at the last verse of chapter 12 he says but covet earnestly the best gifts okay yes okay let's go ahead and right now that's why I was I was hesitating as to if we should go any further let's pray our Father which art in heaven we thank you for your word which is a lamp into our feet our light into our path to show us things which was which must shortly come to pass we claim the blessing blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand we pray your blessing upon us as we study these things today we thank you for your presence during this Sabbath School and Lord we pray for sister nyla and whatever the cause of her apparent discomfort and pain father we pray that your hand would be upon her and give her peace and that healing that she needs especially at this moment please have mercy upon her because your son Jesus we are healed by His stripes we wait upon you to do that thing for her that she needs we pray and we thank you in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ amen you
