our Father which in heaven we thank you for this time we thank you for this hour that you've given us to be with you we thank you for the Sabbath day and their father in heaven as we begin to take up this study on the song of Moses we ask that your Holy Spirit would be in this congregation in our hearts and our minds we pray that your holy angels would be present to impress upon our hearts and minds the truth as it is in Jesus we pray that they would prepare our hearts and minds so to comprehend thy word that we shall be charmed with its beauty admonished by warnings are animated and strengthened by its promises we ask that you would give us meat and due season please O Lord that the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord our strength and our Redeemer we pray and we thank you in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ amen good morning to everyone as you see on the sermon notes title is the last song of Moses and how many songs of Moses are there there's two and I really didn't even conceptualize that in my mind until I began to study this song in earnest because usually when we think of the song of Moses what chapter do we think of what what incident do we think of Exodus 15 huh but I was you know whenever I'm studying and preparing for a presentation and I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to present have the onset i just opened to a place in the Bible where I I am interested digging into and I asked the Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me and one thing and like this has happened before one thing led to another so I'm let me just share with you with my train of thought as I began this what led me to this what I intended to do was study and present Jeremiah 25 so if you go with me to Jeremiah 25 I intended on still on studying this and in presenting it in its entirety and as I was preparing to do that and going through it verse by verse and I've been studying Jeremiah 25 on and off for weeks and as I was considering verse 6 Moore and verse 6 says and go not after other gods to serve them and to worship them and provoke me not to anger with your work with the works of your hands and I will do you know hurt so I thought that I would just type in the words something like go not go not after other gods or something like that I forgot exactly what I typed in to the Fiji wide app and so when I did that it led me to Jeremiah 44 and you'll have all these you'll have these here on your own your notes Jeremiah 44 therefore Jeremiah 44 verses 2 & 3 says thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah and behold this day they are a desolation and no man dwelleth Varian because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods whom they knew not neither they ye or your father's I mean I read that last part because of Daniel 11 and verse 38 being in the back of my mind and Jeff had recently spoken about that I thought well that's also in Daniel 11 38 and so I went to Daniel 11 38 look at that and we all we've read that before what we'll read it Daniel 11 38 speaking of the papacy well let's just read 38 30 37 38 and 39 neither neither shall he regard the god of his father's nor the desire of women nor regard any God for he shall magnify himself above all but in his estate shall he honor the god of forces and a God whom his father's knew not shall he honor with gold and silver and with precious stones and pleasant things thus shall he do in the most strong holes with a strange God to whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory and he shall cause them to rule over many and shall divide the land for game so that phrase a God whom his father's knew not so I thought well let me type that phrase in or something of that nature and so it led me to Deuteronomy 29 Deuteronomy 29 and verse 26 and I was familiar with Deuteronomy between 9 but the last presentation that I gave or at least part of that last presentation this was in there Deuteronomy 29 26 says for they went and served other gods and worship them gods whom they knew not and whom they had not given unto them okay I guess it doesn't say yeah well god yeah God's whom they knew not does it mention the fathers there okay and so then it also led me to Deuteronomy 32 which is part of the song of Moses Deuteronomy 32 and verse 17 they sacrificed unto devils not to God to gods whom they knew not to new gods that came newly up whom your fathers feared not so different forms of that let me go back there to Deuteronomy 29 a few pages back and I thought that was in there okay yeah 25 then men shall say no no that's not yeah that's it yeah then men shall say because they have forsaken the covenant of Lord God of their fathers whom he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt for they went and served other gods and worship them gods whom they knew not yeah and whom he had not given unto them so that thought that thought God's whom they knew not neither they know their fathers or some some form of that of that as far as I can tell in the scriptures that is in the scriptures four times if if if you examine this you tell me if I'm right or wrong and if I'm right about that then the four is one of those numbers about the fourth generations of this this worshipping of God whom they knew not neither they nor their fathers is happens in the fourth generation okay and so that puts Deuteronomy 32 the song of Moses in the fourth generation even though it's applicable to other times as primarily speaking to us here in the last days now our scripture reading go to Revelation 15 you know I really you have in Revelation 14 and verse 3 it says and they sung as it were a new song but in Revelation 15 in verse 3 it says and they sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb all right I don't know whether the one in Revelation 14 there's a song of Moses over the years I have assumed that it is but nevertheless in Revelation 15 I didn't realize until last night my wife informed me from a statement in the spirit of prophecy that there's actually two songs there in verse in 15 verse 3 you have the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb okay just wanted to put that in the record all right so let's go back to Deuteronomy 32 the song of Moses this is only going to be part one there's no way in the world I can cover all that I have in one presentation even these notes is as compared compared to most presentations I turn out to be what four pages three and a half might not cover all of that so when you look at Deuteronomy 32 let's look at the first statement there from from prophets and kings page 394 - 390 393 394 the encouragement offered as the reward of obedience were accompanied by prophesies of judgments against a disobedient and as the King heard the inspired words he recognized in the picture set before him conditions that were similar to those actually existing in his kingdom in connection with these prophetic portrayals of departure from God he was startled to find plain statements to the fact that the day of calamity night what if I remember correctly in this statement I'm almost sure of this just to kind of give you the background of this I believe this is in the chapter in publishing kings where sister white is I think as the chapter is the book of the law and of course she's writing about Josiah and the discovery of the book of the law and of course it was the book of Moses to law of Moses and what's what's included in the in the law of Moses in the book of books of Moses you have really part of it is Deuteronomy 32 in this song of Moses this sect this last song of Moses okay so I wanted you to know that okay so continuing on in the paragraph in connection with these prophetic portrayals of departure from God he was startled to find plain statements to the effect that the day of calamity would follow swiftly and that there would be no remedy the language was plain there could be no mistake in mistaking the the meaning of the words and at the close of the volume the close of Deuteronomy third of the book of Deuteronomy in a summary of God's dealings with Israel and a rehearsal of the events of the future these matters were made doubly plain so and then as it continues it says in the hearing of all Israel Moses declared and so Ellen White quotes about three quarters of the song of this last song of Moses and you you have there in your notes every verse that she goes I didn't put it in the notes you have it in your Bibles so most of she quotes most of Deuteronomy 32 and the song of Moses and she's saying again repeating the language was plain that there could be no mistaking the meanings of the words and at the close of the volume the close of Deuteronomy 30 of Deuteronomy the Book of Deuteronomy Deuteronomy has 34 chapters in a summary of God's dealings with Israel and a rehearsal of the events of the future that's what the song of Moses is a summary of God's dealings with Israel and a rehearsal of the events of the future and it says these matters were made doubly plain so I'm just now thinking okay do you have in the song of Moses just the way that sister white is describing it you have a doubling therefore these things are somehow connected with the midnight cry all right and one of us is not going to say yeah and it says okay all right but listen we'll just leave that as it is now as I perused the eg white app I have on my phone I didn't go to the computer I found that because I searched all the places where sister white all the statements were sister white quotes part of Deuteronomy 32 and there are two places where she quotes it the the most the others has just you know by way of mention you know just individual versus but not large portions but there are two places where she quotes large portions of it and one of them is right there in the notes you have there on the on the bottom of that first statement the other place where she quotes the majority of the song of Moses is in a place you would not think it would be there and that is and I don't have it in your in your notes I will admit I will emphasize it more in the following presentations that other place where she quotes most of the song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32 is in the chapter in volume 1 of the testimonies entitled the rebellion now one of the things that's significant about that chapter is that if you if you look at Val if you have a physical volume you won't I don't think you'll find this in in the you know eg white app I don't know whether it would be in the on the cd-rom but you'll have it in the physical volume there's a little note at the bottom of the first page of that chapter and that refers you to the appendix for that page and when you go to the appendix you'll find that that chapter was written in 1863 okay and so that is right smack in the middle of what historically what what rebellion and and that's where I was going but I wasn't gonna get there yet that's right smack in the middle of another rebellion what's the other rebellion the Civil War okay so she what sister white does and we will cover that chapter in the following presentations but sister white does she begins to address people that were Adventists at that time that had wrong views of slavery and the war and she's actually describing them as being in rebellion okay she doesn't get to the Civil War addressing the Civil War until about the second half of the chapter there are three places in Volume one that sister white discusses the Civil War this is only one of them okay so you have that and and I have just begun to dig into that chapter as it relates to our history but it appears thus far to me as I have read portions of that Nora actually had read the entire chapter but I'm going over it again I read it last week and now I'm starting this morning this last night I started going over it again and last night I began to see evidences that it is speaking to the controversies in this movement and what about what I mean by that is that in that chapter as she is addressing it one brother especially he doesn't name him she says you know he has a wrong view of slavery if I had the book here with me but I could read portions of it but I'll do that next week but she says something like we want and I'm just paraphrasing we want the world to know that we are not we hope need to be we have no fellowship with you because of your views on slavery because you've given people the impression that seventh-day Adventist are in sympathy with the rebellion meaning the rebellion of the south okay I'm seeing similarities in that because what do you have that's one of the controversies that has happened I hate to say in this movement because when we say in this movement we know he there's no one here that is in sympathy with the apostasy that has occurred over the over the last months okay but it's conscious issues that we're having to face and what is one of the issues in regards to the apostasy that we've had to address and brother Larry addressed it somewhat in his dispensation presentation last week and that is the issue of slavery okay the issue in Volume one in that Pat in that chapter the rebellion was about slavery because because she's speaking she's writing about the civil war and you have people who have wrong views of slavery and so you have people that have been in this movement who now have wrong views of slavery but it's a different twist okay so I wanted I wanted to to share those things with you so that you can know at least in part where we're going in this presentation there's a lot more than just this issue about the slavery thing I'm but I feel compelled because sister white quotes the majority of the song of Moses in that chapter the rebellion I feel compelled now to connect the two all right okay let's leave that aside now for now we'll come back to that in the coming presentations before we get into the body of the song of Moses I want to go to Deuteronomy chapter 31 because in a sense what you have in Deuteronomy 31 you could call an introduction to the song of Moses so we started verse 16 and the Lord said unto Moses behold thou shalt sleep with thy fathers and this people will rise up and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land whether they go to be among them and will forsake me and break my covenant which I made with them now even though you have it in your notes we won't go to it you should we should all know this as seventh-day adventists anyway what is the sign of the Covenant the Sabbath the seventh day Sabbath according to Deuteronomy 31 verses 16 to 30 all right and I'm not saying as this Sabbath is the only thing but I'm saying primarily that's the central issue okay because in later presentations later the coming days we're going to find that because of this broken covenant it invites the wrath of God then my anger shall be kindled against him in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide my face from them and they shall be devoured and many evils and troubles shall befall them and again I'm gonna emphasize this is I look at this as an introduction to the song of Moses now now notice it says and the troubles that shall befall them so now you hear now you have another verse now that's connected to Daniels last vision Daniel 10:14 let's just turn to that read that just quickly Daniel 10:14 and Gabriel says to Daniel now I am come to make the understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days for yet the vision is for many days so there you have and so it just comes up the word befall comes up several times here so that they will say in that day are not these evils come upon us because our God is not Gus and I will surely hide my face in that day in that day for all the evils which they have wrought in that they are turned unto other gods now therefore right ye this law this song for you and teach it to the children of Israel put it in their mouths that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel for when I shall have brought them into the land which I swear unto their fathers that floweth with milk and honey and they shall have eaten and fill themselves and wax in fat excuse me then will I turn then will they turn into other gods and serve them and provoke me and break my covenant so there you have it again they provoked him when they break his covenant and they and it shall come to pass when many evils and troubles are befallen them that this song shall testify against him as a witness for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed for I know their imagination in which they go about even now before I have brought them into the land which I swear Moses therefore wrote this song the same day now when it says the same day I'm not absolutely 100% sure of this but I believe that when it's saying the same day is saying the same day that Moses went up the mountain to die okay these are some of his last words all right I mean you have more things that he says there in verse in chapter 33 because what he does in chapter 33 is similar to what Jacob did with his sons there in Genesis Genesis 49 the blessings and the it's pretty much a prophecy of what would happen to his sons after he died all right so continuing on Moses therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it to the children of Israel and he gave Joshua the son of nun in charge and said be strong and of a good courage for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I swear unto them and I will be with thee and it shall come to pass when Moses had made and it came to pass when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book until they were finished now notice it says writing the words of this law in a book interesting that Moses commanded the Levites which bear the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord saying take this book of the law and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your God that it may be there for a witness against it appears like this song it is this song is in in the side of the Ark okay for I know thy rebellion and thy stiff neck behold while I am yet alive with you this day ye have been rebellious against the Lord and how much more after my death he's saying you're rebellious right now and how much more after I die gather unto me all the elders of your tribes and your officers that I may speak these words in their ears and call heaven and earth to record against him for I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way in which I have commanded you and evil will befall you in the latter days because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger through the works of your hands pause right there just for a moment and connect that with you have very similar thoughts in Acts chapter 20 verses 19 to 31 and I don't think I'll put that on the notes Acts chapter 20 or some pass a passage that we are familiar with acts 20 verses 29 to 31 for I know this Paul said that after my departing shall Grievous wolves enter in among you not sparing the flock also of your own selves shall men arise speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them therefore watch and remember that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears very simular thought Paul is near probably near his his death okay and Moses is near his death and also again there in back to Deuteronomy 32 and verse about their brother 31 22 29 again it says and evil will befall you in the latter days okay yeah so you have you have the thought of evil evil be following them three times there you have it in verse 17 and verse 21 I didn't mention it very much there and verse 29 and Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song until they were ended all right so let's read Deuteronomy 32 verses 1 through 5 now the first part of this is gonna be you might say elementary to this movement but because it's they're trying to cover the whole chapter I've got I've got to address it okay and just so you can see the progression of events things don't start I'll put it this way things don't start getting hot until about verse 15 alright so give ear o ye heavens and I will speak and hear o earth the words of my mouth my doctrine and these verses here we're very familiar breath aren't we in these first three verses and I was speaking here o earth the words of my mouth my doctrine shall drop as the rain my speech shall distill as to do as a small rain upon the tender herb and as the showers upon the grass because I will publish the name of the Lord ascribe your greatness unto our God this is one of the best passages of scripture that you can use to show the people that the latter rain is a message okay so continuing on because I will publish the name of the Lord ascribe the greatness unto our God he is the rock his work is perfect for all his ways or judgment a God of truth and without iniquity just and true Justin right is he they have corrupted themselves their spot is not the spot of his children they are a perverse and crooked generation all right it says they have corrupted themselves you'll notice if you look at your nose there we have a reference to Deuteronomy I'm sorry Exodus 32 Exodus 32 verses 6 through 8 when the children of Israel began to worship the golden calf similar words were spoken of them Exodus 31 verses 12 to 18 no 6 to 8 rather and they rose up early on the morrow and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offering then the people sat down to eat and to drink and rose up to play and the Lord said unto Moses get thee down for thy people which thou has brought which thou brought us out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I have commanded them they have made them a golden calf a molten calf rather and have worshipped it and have sacrificed there unto you unto their unto and said these be thy God's o Israel which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt and I believe we can justly compare this with those other scriptures where the bible says they they sacrificed and worship devils like it says further on I think in Deuteronomy yea 32:17 all right now back to your notes there spot is not this part of these children if you go to the interlinear and we have we lent intial in your Bible at home and it says in the original they are not his son that's what that means they are not his son but it says they are they have not his spot their spot is not this part of his children they're not his sons and then a perverse and crooked generation perverse equals distorted crooked equal equals it means torturous limit or to us and not not torturing but torturers like a like a like a tortoise you know he's and he's and he's he's twisting and gliding okay he's crafty now I failed to put and I'm seeing it now I failed to reference let's see where is it at here of Philippians Philippians 2:15 in Philippians 2:15 Paul quotes he actually quotes that verse Philippians 2:15 that you may be blameless and harmless the sons of God without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation among whom you shine as the lights as lights in the world and of course that would take us to Daniel 12:3 and it says that God's people the wise will shine as the brightness of the firmament okay so when you go back to Deuteronomy 32 and it's speaking of a perverse and crooked generation you know it being the crooked the word crooked meaning meaning torturous and crafty reminded me of Spira prophecy volume 4 page 319 here for a time Satan had the advantage this is speaking of Satan's Lucifer's rebellion in the heaven and he exalted in his arrogated superiority in this one respect to the angels of heaven and even to God himself while Satan can employ fraud and sophistry to accomplish his objects God cannot lie while Lucifer like the serpent can choose a torturous course turning twisting gliding to conceal himself God God moves only in a direct straight forward line Satan has had disguised himself in a cloak of falsehood and for a time it was impossible to tear off the covering so that the hideous deformity of his character could be seen he must be left to reveal himself in his cruel artful wicked works now there's a lot there but and I mentioned this during various presentations one of his presentations last week on the dispensations and you know how the apostate movement Dyl so take the lines and they'll cut them and they'll twist things this statement that we've just read I believe is speaking to that that's what people will do they'll reflect the character of Satan and their torturous course turning twisting gliding whereas God moves and you know Oliver lions are on a straight forward line God moves only in a straight forward line all right and notice the last part of this passage it says that Satan had disguised himself in a cloak of falsehood we I see that this up these people who apostatized from the truth recently especially one person individual err one individual in particular cloaked himself in falsehood and for a time it was impossible to tear off the covering so that the hideous deformity of his character could be seen he must be left to reveal himself in his cruel artful wicked works that's what had to happen these people especially some of these individuals must be left to reveal themselves and they're cruel and artful wicked works alright continuing on back to Deuteronomy now okay verse six says do ye thus requite the Lord all foolish people and unwise dust thus referring us to the parable of the ten virgins the unwise are foolish they're the foolish virgins okay is not thy father he that bought thee hath not has he not made thee and established the now speaking about generations here of okay verse five speaks of a perverse and crooked generation turn with me for a bit to proverbs chapter thirty barber obstetric 30 verses 11 to 14 now I've been familiar with this passage for many years but it didn't really dawn on me till just a few days ago that are actually four times here that such statements are made and notice the progression there is a generation that curseth their father and does and does not bless their mother that's the first mistake there is a generation that are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed from their filthiness second mistake there is a generation all how lofty are their eyes and their eyelids are lifted up third mistake and the 14th verse there is a generation whose teeth are as swords and their jaw teeth as knives to devour the poor from off the earth and the needy from among men now I'm just as thought of just coming to my mind here you know we and it meant on the surface when it speaks of the poor there you think of people that are physically poor and when you think of the needy you think of people that are physically needed but if you would take this to the Sermon on the Mount what would it tell us well let's go to let's let's go there I I didn't even intend on going here but I think needs to be seen clearly here so we'll know exactly what we're talking about and I'm don't ok blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven verse 3 Matthew 5 verse 3 okay and it speaks of the needy well it doesn't speak of the needy exactly in those words here but I think you can those who feel their need of Christ their need of a knowledge of his word they're thirsty they're hungry okay so let's make sure that we understand proverbs 30 verse 14 is not just speaking about these people who have teeth as sores and their jaw teeth as knives it's not only that they're robbing the poor and the needy but they're persecuting God's people alright let's just put it plainly that's what they're doing so but notice there's four so just and in all of these all of these happen they're all there is a progression here but then all of these four are repeated in the fourth generation all right I say that because if you can understand what I'm what I'm saying here is that you had you had in Adventism you've had apostasy after of apostasy after apostasy for decades for decades over a hundred years but this recent apostasy that most adventist aren't even aware of it did everything that all of the other heretics did all these decades all in just a few years few months but I mean I'm gonna say years I'm talking about going back all the way to all the way to 2013 okay they did all of that and it just like a snowball roll at rolling downhill they got worse and worse and worse they've done worse they've done worse far worse than all the other other heretics all the other apostates in Adventism yes so they curse father and mother they are pure in their own eyes not washed from their from their filthiness their lofty in their own eyes their eyelids are lifted up and then it all ends up and all of these first three ends up with persecution they persecute their teeth are as swords and their jaw teeths as knives all right next page of your notes page two yeah I can see we're not gonna finish even with this first part addressing verse six and it's that the Lord asks is he not thy father o foolish people that have brought thee hath he not made thee and established II this is speaking to seventh-day Adventist speaking the seventh-day Adventist in general is speaking to this movement and more in particular review and Herald March 18th 1884 the Church of today has followed in the steps of the Jews of old who set aside the commandments of God for their own traditions she has changed the ordinance broken the everlasting covenant and now as then pride unbelief their eyelids are lofty okay an infidelity or the result her true condition is set forth in these words from the song of Moses and then she quotes Deuteronomy 32 verses five and six all right you know just reading that passage there it just makes me say that you know you have this attitude you have it you have it in the political world you have it in apostate Protestantism it mister attitude of the papacy it's in Adventism this attitude is that people like that can't even see the possibility of this happening are you understanding what I'm saying there are people in the Adventist Church who are who have the attitude that it is impossible for apostasy to happen in the Adventist Church don't you know you might have in their eyes you might have individual members that are positive but the leadership never so therefore they are infallible yes sir their common statement there from the general conferences yes there is apostasy in the church but no the church is not an apostasy sir brother Jeff that is the same and I know you've read you have read ecclesiastical megalomania it's about the papacy and that is exactly the the attitude almost exact words of the of the of the the hierarchy of the of the the church yeah it's it's it's our children that are a bad children we are the church and we're perfect see that's that's the attitude that is that is manifested anyway when I read that in that book I never never forgot it so all right continuing on the next statement yeah oh foolish people and unwise because you have Matthew 25 there you see that heading there made thee and established the okay the first two references are from Genesis and is just speaking about the fact that God created man okay but let's go to Isaiah 44 verse 7 just for a moment let's put that one in the record I say at 44 verse 7 and who as I shall call and declare it and set it in order for me since I appointed the ancient people and the things that are coming and things and and shall come let them show unto them I just want to put that there just to emphasize he appointed the ancient people same thing as pretty much he established the ancient people he has established his people in every Reformatory movement or in every dispensation but they're all connected all right so now from selected messages book two pages 115 and 116 series will be continually agitated to divert the mind to unsettle the faith those who have had the actual experience now what she's going to say here in this next sentence she's speaking about the pioneers in Adventism it's a very very important statement those who have had the actual experience in the unfolding of the prophecies our pioneers like James white ellen white joseph bates jane Jews all of these in her time okay I'm not excluding William Miller okay but anyway those who have had the actual experience in the unfolding of the prophecies have been made what they are today seventh-day Adventist by these prophecies a good question to ask a seven a nominal seventh-day Adventist what is what makes you a seventh-day Adventist accost dim and ask them what makes you a seventh-day Adventist and answer them with this let them labor with that for a while and then then show them this statement they are to stand with their loins gird about with truth and with the whole armor on those who have not had this experience have we had this experience yes and no I mean we were not we didn't live during the time of those pioneers but in our time yes we have okay but nevertheless it says those who have not had this experience are privileged to hold the message of truth with the same confidence the light that God has been pleased to give his people will not weaken their confidence in the path in which he has led them in the past but will strengthen them to hold fast to faith we must hold the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end and you can't break up dispensations and say well our dispensation has nothing to do with the previous dispensations we just make our own house you know no they're all dependent upon the previous otherwise we cannot hold the beginning of our conference firm unto the end all right then selected messages book to page 103 104 the burden of the warning now to come to the people god naw naw in a far-off is the third angels message and those who are seeking to understand this message will not be led by the Lord to make an application of the word that will undermine the foundation and remove the pillars of the faith that has made us made seventh-day Adventist what they are today we are made seven the evidence by the prophecies that were fulfilled during the 1798 to 1844 time period the truths that have been unfolding in their order as we have advanced along the line of prophecy revealed in the Word of God or truth sacred eternal truth today those who passed over the ground step by step in the past history of our experience seeing the chain of truth in the prophecies were prepared to accept and obey every ray of light and where of course we're not just speaking about the early Advent movement we're speaking about this movement also they were praying fasting searching digging for the truth as for hidden treasures and the Holy Spirit we know was teaching and guiding us many theories were advanced bearing a semblance of truth but so mingled with misinterpreted and missile ID scriptures that they led to dangerous errors very well do we know how every point of truth was established and the sealed set upon it by the Holy Spirit of God and all the time voices were heard here is truth I have the truth follow me but the warnings came go not ye after them I have not sent them but they ran Jeremiah 23 21 and let me just emphasize Deuteronomy 32 5 and 6 again they have corrupted themselves their spot is not the spot of his children under words they are not his sons they are a perverse and crooked generation do ye thus require the Lord o foolish people and unwise is not he thy father that had bought the had he not made thee and established thee and verse seven says remember the days of old consider the years of many generations ask thy father and he will show thee thy elders and they will tell thee well several things there remember the days of old Jeremiah 6 verses 16 and 17 tells us to seek for the old paths and walk therein isaiah 46:9 in 10 got why i have that there as you have 46 verses 9 and 10 remember the former things of old for I am God and there is none else I am God and there is none like me declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times of things that are not yet done saying my counsel shall stand and I will do all my pleasure that phrase I will do all my pleasure I have found I haven't really dug into it a whole lot but there's there's there's a lot to that that God has a plan God has a plan and he is going to bring it he is going to bring it to fruition the work of God very controversial 43 the work of God in the earth presents from age to age a striking similarity and every great Reformation or religious movement the principles of God's dealing with men are ever the same the important movements of the present have their parallel and those of the past and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time a priceless priceless statement yeah and then notice it says in verse seven remember the days of old consider the years of many generations and that word consider means separate mentally and it's the same word as in Daniel 9 23 and if you'll go with me just for a moment to Daniel 9 23 or just to you'll make the connection there this is the beginning of the explanation of the seventy weeks at the beginning of my supplications the angel Gabriel told Daniel the commandment came forth and I am come to show thee for thou I greatly beloved therefore understand the matter and consider the vision that word consider the same Hebrew word as consider in Deuteronomy 32 and verse 7 and then speaking of the generations there isaiah 58:12 isaiah 58:12 and they that shall be and they that shall be of these shall build the old waste places thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach the restorer of paths to dwell in all right page three of your notes asked i father and he will show thee verse seven says who is our Father who is our Father what's that no you found me out ok James to 21 games to 21 was not Abraham our Father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar so he's asked Abraham ask Abraham then Deuteronomy for you know I hope you understand why I'm saying ask Abraham because of Genesis 15 I don't have it in your notes but this is that passage that we're familiar with there in Genesis 15 verse 13 that whole section there between verses 13 and 21 okay the iniquity of the EM rights is not yet full okay and that nation I will judge I won't go there right now but I believe this has a connection to that all right but Deuteronomy 4 verses 9 and 10 only take heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently lest I'll forget the things which thine eyes have seen and they unless they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life but teach them thy sons and thy sons sons especially the day that thou stood us before the LORD thy God in Horeb when the Lord said unto thee gather me the people together and I will make them hear my words that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth and that they may teach their children and constantly the Lord is telling them telling the children the children of Israel tell your children how you the Lord led you through the Red Sea and the Red Sea experienced parallels Adventism therein on October 22nd 1844 what does the the giving of the law because that's what verse 10 is speaking about when you stood before the Lord at Horeb what is the giving of the law in our time 911 because you have all the glory of the Lord manifested right there and you have revelation 18 so in our movement make sure you um he started telling us make sure you emphasize this and teach it to your children kind of bring this to a close here and of course what about Joelle chapter 1 all right never notice I you know he's saying asked by father all right and if you ask your father if you've asked your father Abraham he'll tell you Joell chapter one starting at verse to hear this ye old men and give ear all youn habitants of the land has this been in your days or even in the days of your father's tell you your children of it and let your children tell their children and their children another generation so you have generation after generation just as a note to this before we go any further there in Joelle chapter 1 let me see if my eyes can follow ya in my marginal reference to verse 7 of Deuteronomy 32 when it says consider the years of many generations that word many generations of the phrase and the Hebrew means generation and generation that might some may be over simplistic but I think it's it's emphasizing that to us you study all the generations all the how this great controversy 343 say it all the Reformatory of movements you study all of these ok alright so back to Joelle that which the Palmer Palmer worm that which the Palmer worm has left has the locust eaten and that which the locust has left has the cankerworm age and in that which the cankerworm hath eaten has the caterpillar left awake ye drunkards and weep and howl all all ye drinkers of wine because of the new wine for it is cut off from your mouth for a nation has come up upon my land strong and without number whose teeth are the teeth of a lion and he has the cheek teeth of a great lion he has laid my vine waste and barked my fig tree he has made it clean bare and cast it away the branches thereof are made white we teach our children these things as far as I understand this but we wouldn't do that would we all right so I'll just go a little bit over here back to your notes top of page three you have a reference to Deuteronomy 32 8 when the Most High divided to the nation's their inheritance when he separated the sons of Adam he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel and so he did that at the Tower of Babel Genesis 11 he separated the nations Genesis 11 verses 8 and 9 so the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth and they left off to build the city therefore is the name of it called Babel because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth and from thence did the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of the earth it doesn't say that it set their bounds but that's the implication I believe there and in 2nd Corinthians 6:14 2:18 be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers for what Fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion has light with darkness and what Concord hath Christ with Belial or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols for ye are the Temple of the Living God as God has said I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they shall be my people wherefore come out from among them and be separate saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you and will be a father unto you and you shall be my sons and daughters saith the Lord Almighty and Leviticus 20 verticals 20 verses 22 to 26 you shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my judgments and do them that the land whither I bring you to dwell in spew you not out and ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation which I cast out before you for they committed all these things and therefore I abhorred them how can you how can these people say we're gonna act like the world now when you have this clear scriptures don't do that but I have said unto you you shall inherit their land and I will give it unto you to possess it a land that floweth with milk and honey I am the Lord your God which have separated you from all from other people you shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean and between unclean fouls and clean and you shall not make your souls abominable by beasts or by fowl or by any manner of living saying that creepers on the ground which I have separated from you separated from you as unclean and you shall be holy unto me for I the LORD am holy and have severed you from other people that ye should be mine severed you and so one more verse acts 17:26 acts 17:26 Paul speaking to the Athenians says and hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth and hath determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation you can look at that word bounds in a couple of ways but I'm emphasizing physical separation and so now our last statement will read testimonies volume 5 page 455 God had called God has called his church in this day he has called ancient Israel as he called ancient Israel to stand as a light in the earth by the mighty cleaver of truth notice then Leviticus 20 it says he severed them all right by the mighty cleaver of truth the messages of the 1st 2nd and 3rd angels he has separated them from the churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred nearness to himself he has made them them the depositories of his law and has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time like the Holy Oracles committed to ancient Israel these are a sacred trust to be communicated to the world so we'll take up this study and sometime in the near future anyway but I would encourage you to study these notes and this song of Moses because I think it has a bearing for us in the last days especially when you it has connections to other parts of scripture I wanted to emphasize some things here before I close this is going to lead us to eventually to where in the song of Moses he's saying that they sacrificed unto devils and not to God all these verses here this is God's people forsaking him at the Sunday law and it provokes his anger it says he they moved him to jealousy we need to really get it into our minds that we are as separate people and God is purposed it's so so that we can be that in sign that is that is that is lifted up at the end of the world let's pray our Father which art in heaven we thank you for the way that you have led us in the past and Lord we pray that you would help us not to forget your leadings in our past experience help us O Lord to hold at the beginning of our conference firm and steadfast unto the end help us O Lord to follow on to know the Lord whose going forth has been from a bold even from everlasting and as we continue to consider these things and the song of Moses we pray that we would be more firmly established in the truth and sufficiently warned of the events that will surely soon come to pass thank you dear father for hearing our prayer and guiding us we pray and we thank you in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ amen
